Anyone that contributes is a welcome addition to TheHorseStables.com!(ContentDesk) August 7, 2005 -- The American West 4d Barrel Racing Association will be holding its 2005 AW4D National Finals in Reno, Nev., on Oct. 9-15.Hundreds of Barrel Racers from all around the U.S. and Hawaii will come to Reno to compete for $101,500 in cash and prizes. These racers will make multiple runs in two different arenas.The divisions are set according to the fastest time and split down from that.The events will kick off on Monday Oct. 10, 2005, with the time-only runs.
Time-only runs are available for Monday and Tuesday. These runs are practice runs that can get the horses and riders adjusted to the arena conditions and surroundings. They will have both the indoor and outdoor arenas open for time-only runs. Barrel racers will race in four races in the Open divisions, Senior, Youth; the Futurity and Maturity riders will compete in two races. They will have a divisional tour final, which is only open to riders of the Women's Professional Rodeo Association.Grand Entry is at 6 p.m.
on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, in the indoor arena. This is a parade of riders from different states. These riders dress in costumes and some even dress the horses in costumes too. They can have some very interesting get-ups.
They will play the national anthem and the show is on.Following the Grand Entry is the Smooth Run Challenge of Champions. This race is for the Top racers, and is by invitation. You can find Smooth Run supplements at www.thehollisterstore.com. Barrel racers from world champions to young girls compete for $10,000 added cash and awards. Last year, Tyreney Steinhoff, from Okalahoma, on her great horse "Hot Shot" won the Challenge of Champions race.
She was the youngest and by far the smallest racers in the race. However, Hot Shot has won multiple World Championships with multiple riders including, NBHA world championships, WPRA world championships and holds multiple arena records, some of these with Tyreney's older sister Tanya Steinhoff. You have not seen anything until you see this little girl run. Hot Shot is an amazing machine and to watch him run is like watching magic happen.Allie Hamner, another youth rider, from California and her great horse "Gus" won last year's youth average and will be a tough team again this year. Allie and Gus are another amazing team to watch.
